Engineering Materials at SRB Griturn

Aluminium
Aluminium, the most abundant metallic element in the Earth's crust, is a very light metal with a specific weight of 2.7 kg dm−3, about a third that of steel. Aluminium naturally generates a protective oxide coating and is highly corrosion resistant. Different types of surface treatment such as anodising can further improve this property.

Our standard aluminium grades that we work with are 6082, 2011 and 6026. If you will require a different type of aluminium grade then please do not hestitate to contact us, the machines that we have at SRB Griturn are fully capable of operating with all grades of aluminium. 




Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is a high-alloy steel that has a superior corrosion resistance and, unlike ordinary steel, does not readily rust or stain. Stainless Steel comes in a wide variety of different grades with the most popular grade being AusteniticThe austenitic alloy types are variations of 18% chromium / 8% nickel, the most familiar and most frequently used alloy in the stainless steel family.

The standard Stailness Steel grades that we work with at SRB Griturn are those of the Austenitic 300 series; 303 and 304If you require a different type of stainless steel grade then please do not hestitate to contact us.




Mild Steel
The term mild steel applies to all low carbon steel that does not contain any alloying elements in its makeup and has a carbon content that does not exceed 0.25%. It is also the least expensive of all steel and the most common. Used in nearly every type of product created from steel, it is weldable, very hard and very durable. However, due to its poor resistance to corrosion, mild steel must be protected by anodising or otherwise sealed to prevent it from rusting.

The standard Mild Steel grades that we work with at SRB Griturn are EN1A, EN1B and EN8If you require a different type of mild steel grade then please do not hestitate to contact us.




Brass
Brass is a metal composed primarily of copper and zinc. As Copper is the main component, brass is usually classified as a copper alloy. Although it is much stronger and harder than copper, brass is not as strong or hard as steel. Brass has a variety of properties; it is easy to form into various shapes, a good conductor of heat, and generally resistant to corrosion from salt water.

We work with all grades of Brass here at SRB Griturn. 



Plastic
There are many quality characteristics of using plastics in engineering, such as: high mechanical strength, excellent resilience, good creep resilience, high impact strength, good sliding properties and good wear resistance.

The standard grades of plastic that we work with at SRB Griturn are Acetal, Delrin and NylonIf you require a different type of plastic grade then please do not hestitate to contact us.



Bronze
Bronze is an alloy made of copper and another metal, usually tin. Compositions vary, but most modern bronze is 88% copper and 12% tin. Alloys of copper and tin, along with small amounts of other elements, have been used for thousands of years where strength, corrosion resistance, good appearance and ease of manufacture are important.
